I had Scott in Mr. Edwards class. He was such a super sweet guy who was always happy and smiling. He was very talented in the performing arts. Laurie Garay
Scott was always quite a character. I remember one time I went to his house and he played a joke on me. He had a dog and I remember we walked into his room and there on the floor was a piece of dog turd. Scott got this curious look on his face as he got closer and closer to the turd. He bent down, lifted up the turd close to his nose and begin to sniff it. I about grossed out. Little to my knowledge it was a piece of fake dog turd. Thats the way scott was, always joking around. He will always be missed.
Scott was a really good friend and I remember how shocked I was when I found out he had died in that tragic accident. I stood in awe of his amazing talent to make people laugh.
When we attended the Speech and Drama tournaments I always had a lot of fun with Scott - who had an amazing ability to bring home trophies.
When Scott would kid me about being in ROTC and call me a "r-o-t-z-i N-a-z-i" he always said it with affection.
Scott's death was so tragic because I truly believe the world lost an amazing talent. Scott had earned a scholarship to the University of Iowa and was going places.
Sometimes when I catch a sitcom or watch Letterman or Leno I'm absolutely convinced that had Scott lived he very well could have made it in that world.
Can you imagine Scott filling in for Leno or doing stupid pet tricks. RIP my friend.
It broke my heart when I learned Scott passed away. More so because of his girlfriend's evident grief. She became totally withdrawn after the tragic, life-ending car accident. She was a complete introvert for quite a while. I can't recall her name; but the image of her, bereft of her poise at the news of Scott's demise, wandering the dirt-thatched grassy areas of the school grounds between classes, will always remain ingrained in my memory. We were all in Dave Edwards drama class together and I remember the road-trip to Albuquerque with the Drama team. He won first place in the dramatic duo competition with a heart-wrenching performance that blew mine away. My partner and I came in third place. I always imagined Scott would be a great actor someday. About 2 months later he passed on from this earthly existence. Here's to you, Scott. In fond memory...
Scott was a great friend of mine and my girlfriend Surea. We had hung out a lot, had Dave Edwards calss together of course. Which by the way Dave is still one of my closest friends to this day. He has acted in 2 of my films. At any rate, Scott was a true talent. He always reminded me of Danny Devito. He was going to be a great comedian and actor. I remember one night we sat in the park up at 4 hills drinking Colt 45 and talking. He advised me on my life and my lovelife as well. He changed some things for me that night. Gave me some good advice. I was always a little "different" and he gave me some good advice on a spiritual level as well. Great friend, he will be greatly missed.
I often think of Scott and how special he was to those of us who knew him. He was one of those rare souls...the kind that don't come along often in one's life.
You are missed as much today as you were on that fateful day, my friend.
